“You Have to Do Something in Your Life Once in a While” – Henk
Some projects are more than upgrades. They become the beginning of a new adventure. That is exactly how it felt when we met Henk Oosterveen, proud owner of the sailing yacht NARVI, during the installation of his new U‑DEK® deck.
We first met Henk at the BOOT Düsseldorf show, where he had been comparing different decking options. After exploring many varieties, he stopped at our booth and immediately felt a connection. “The first contact was great,” he said. “From there on, everything just felt right.”
A First Look:
“It’s like a brand‑new boat.”
Before installation even began, Henk already had his U‑DEK® panels in hand. His reaction was immediate.
“It doesn’t even feel like my boat anymore. It’s amazing.”
For years, he had been thinking about upgrading his deck. Seeing the nearly finished result for the first time genuinely moved him.
Installation Day: A Completely New Feeling
By the end of the day, NARVI was transformed. The full deck was installed, and the boat looked refreshed, modern, and ready for new horizons. Henk stepped aboard and immediately felt the difference.
“I didn’t expect it to be this nice. What I really like is how soft it is and how good it feels under your feet.”
Comfort, grip, and aesthetics all came together in a way that exceeded his expectations.
A Summer of Adventure: Sailing the Baltic
With his upgraded deck complete, Henk is preparing for a dream journey, together with his wife, Petra. This summer, they plan to sail north toward Stockholm, continue to Finland, and explore the Baltic for a couple of months. When asked what inspired such a trip, his answer was simple and inspiring.
“You have to do something in your life once in a while. And now is the time to do that.”
A beautiful reminder that boats are not only about maintenance and upgrades. They are about living.
Ready for the Journey Ahead
NARVI is now fully equipped with Teak on Holly U‑DEK®, and we are proud to be part of Henk’s story.
Henk, thank you for trusting us with your project. Fair winds and following seas.
